At this time we are experiencing severe problems with our TV and Radio signals in the Smithers, Telkwa and Topley areas. These problems are being caused by the unseasonable weather conditions we are currently experiencing. While it is raining in the valley, the mountains are experiencing a mixture of rain and wet snow. Our transmitters and satellite dishes are located, for the most part, on top of mountains. As a result, our dishes are getting coated with a combination of ice and wet snow. This accumulation of wet snow is great at absorbing the relative weak satellite signals, which are already being attenuated by the moisture in the atmosphere. There is little we can do to improve the situation until weather conditions become more seasonable.
Please bear with us and we will do our best to return our signals to normal operation as soon as possible.
